For the R&R, I stayed near the famous Ximending area as mentioned in the post below that was uploaded very looooong ago. I have since traveled to Genting and Phuket for mini getaways that shall be blogged about next yay! But anyway, besides the initial first day shopping, we went back another time to do some final shopping and take some photos before we left.
With my girlies ♥
Haven’t been able to meet them much ever since we came back. June arrived in a flash and everyone got swamped by their post Taiwan plans and it’s been really hard to have a gathering. I hope we can arrange a meetup soon though. Miss being bimbotic with them! And look at my slippers with dress combo omg. I’m sorry but being a girl I don’t have any comfortable walking shoes…. Maybe I really should invest in a pair of New Balance sigh.
Ice cream Ice cream *plays Hyuna’s Ice Cream*
The weather was super hot that day so we gave in and got giant ice creams on cones! I got the macha one which was super yummy yay! Everyone was looking at our cones in jealously when w walked passed and someone even asked us where we got ours.
A shot at one of the many streets that Ximending has!
One of the super cute shop display we saw and I just had to take a picture! I didn’t buy anything from the shop though LOL. The clothes had too much Korean flair for my taste.
For the first day we managed to squeeze in 九份 Jiu Fen as well and we took some photos along the nice window displays and shop houses too! It’s mostly streets and alleys selling local snacks and dried foods, as well as souvenirs.
Super cute cat soft toys handmade by the shop owner. I was super tempted to buy one from the shop but it was just not within my budget ):
Apparently there’s a hotel there too, like a little cozy cabin so I just posed in front of the room door.
This is the front of the hotel and the girls were just camwhoring there hahaha.
Bad blurry picture because I failed to make it look appealing and girls didn’t wait for me before digging in. Pigs 😛
Then we went into one of tea shops and bought yam balls!!!!! Super nice we bought one cold one and one warm one and just chilled and girl talked for one hour plus before going back to the bus stop. Btw the bus ride is a killer, took over an hour and it was the bumpiest ride ever. Taiwan roads are really swervy and the rides are pretty much always bumpy and I always sleep because otherwise I’d get carsick.
Then the next day we went to Taipei 101! As per my first trip to Taiwan I didn’t go to the top again. Just don’t think these kind of “view” is worth it unless it’s with a really special crowd.
We had to wait and quickly position ourselves in front of the sign because there were several tourist groups wanting to take photos as well and many people waling pass. In the end we got rudely shooed off by a Japanese tour guide. ):
Same pose with the mascot from my previous time here hahaha.
We decided to get Ding Tai Fung for lunch at 101 to see if Dtf was particularly nice in Taiwan. I don’t know if I should be disappointed but it tastes the same and the price is around the same. The yam dumlings in Taiwan are wayyyy fresher than the ones in Singapore though! There’s just something bout yam in Taiwan I swear.
Acting atas while waiting for our tax refund slip at ATT!
As it was a new mall they couldn’t directly give us the refund and we could only collect the refund at the airport which was sadly still semi renovated when I flew back. We got refund for our expensive branded eye masks and nail polish!
After that we went to Wufenpu, a shopping district that sells wholesale prices without needing to buy wholesale. I went crazy shopping there, and I managed to comb the whole thing except one street. I shopped so much that I literally didn’t feel like buying anything the next day. I remembered telling the girls ” I shop until I want to vomit” because I got so dizzy spinning my head left right left right taking in all the clothes and shoes. I would kill to go back again. Although the next time I would control myself from my impulse buys, which I had a few.
Then we went clubbing at Space that night! Thanks to Mingyang’s friend for the intro and being a good host, getting us drinks and talking to us. Too bad I went a little crazy with the shots and missed out on an hour of dancing because my protective friends were content to let me wriggle on the sofa. Sigh…. OH WELL. I got to see a strip show though. Didn’t really like it because I felt bad for the super pretty girl onstage. I mean I’m sure the guys liked it but I just turned away when things got extremely heated. BUT OVERALL IT WAS DAMN FUN!!!!!! That was our last night in Taipei and it was a good one (:
And then it’s time to go homeeeeeeeeeee sweet home. Us with our luggage in the lift. Though I super love the time we had in Taiwan, I couldn’t wait to go back to what was waiting for me back in Singapore. ♥
Thanks girlies for making so many memorable moments with me in Taiwan muax!!!
KT KT KT!
Yay ending this post with a shot in front of the Hello Kitty shop inside the departure hall!
On a quick note, how has summer been?! I’ve been super busy with my production and my travelling and my camps so I haven’t had much time to properly rest before each event comes up but I’m not complaining. IT’S BEEN SO MUCH FUN SO FAR!
And I can’t wait for my upcoming blog posts (:
